Red Thread is the most common lawn fungal disease in the UK and at some point, it is highly likely that your lawn will suffer from it at some degree, even though it might not be enough for you to notice. Red Thread tends to be a bit of a nuisance rather than a fatal lawn disease as it does not kill the roots of the grass plant. Red thread is a fungi that lives in the lawn but is dormant until it favours the right conditions which is wet and warm Werther is ideal conditions it can transfer from grass blade to grass blade by water droplets on the lawn.

Fusarium is a fungal lawn disease the effects of the disease can be seen throughout the year, but mostly through the autumn/winter months. Some strains of fusarium are referred to as snow mould as they thrive in very cold conditions and often grow quickly under a layer of snow.

Wetting Agent in Parts of Doncaster and Surrounding Areas

Wetting Agent

There are several advantages to using wetting agents:

  • Save up to 50% on water use.
  • Penetration: Significantly improves the movement of any moisture through the soil to the root zone instead of water draining right through or sitting on top of the soil. Helps to disperse water evenly throughout the soil Effectively moves water to the right places and spreads it through the soil to benefit the whole lawn. Essential nutrients will be better able to access the roots, as nutrients use water to travel through the soil.
  • Retention: Retains water at the root zone for longer, making it more readily available for the grass plant. This can reduce the amount of water the lawn needs
